The origin of sexuality
I believe sexuality began in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 2). The joining of two beings to become one represents the connection between God and His people. This proper union is brought together emotionally, spiritually, and physically, through means including but not limited to proper sexual activity. God made man and woman to be attracted to one another and form this bond.
Its design
Sexuality was designed for procreation and unity (Genesis 2). God made woman as a similar but different part to pair with Adam, and sexuality reflected that.
Its purpose
Sexuality was purposed for procreation, pleasure, and most of all, unity into one flesh.
Its proper context
I believe the proper context for sexual activity, as presented in Genesis 2, is within a marriage, which is to be considered a legally and heavenly recognized bond between a man and woman, which is not to be broken.
Prohibitions
I believe sexual activity is limited to one man and one woman in the security of marriage. This is entirely exclusive to this specific bond. This means no extra-marital relations, nor relations in a legally but not heavenly recognized marriage. I believe sexual relations were made for this bond, and in some way, even legally recognized marriages (specifically between members of the same sex) can or will result in a perversion of sexuality. I do not know why this is, but only that this is the biblically prescribed way.
Marriage and singleness
I believe both (biblically prescribed) marriage and singleness are proper choices for Christians. If you are able to remain fully devoted to God apart from a spouse, do so. If you will sin outside of marriage, then be married and devote yourself to Christ (1 Corinthians 7). What is important is following Christ, above all other things.
Sexuality and relationship with God
I believe sexuality can be a large stumbling block for many when they choose to make their primary identity their sexuality, rather than identifying with Christ. Proper expressions of sexuality are a good thing made by God, which believers can enjoy in its proper and best context.
